COVID-19 Child Care Family Grant
In an attempt to assist with childcare costs for families affected by COVID-19, Orange County has allocated funds from the CARES Act to assist parents with increased childcare expenses. This grant is primarily for families with school-age children (grades Kindergarten - age 12), however, parents of non-school-age children who have experienced an increase in childcare costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic may also be considered on a case by case basis. The eligible time period the grant will cover is August 24, 2020 - December 31, 2020, or until funds are depleted. Payments will be paid directly to the childcare provider after the services have been rendered.
Parents and providers are equally responsible for completing the required forms and returning them by the appropriate deadlines each month. Parents will return their completed forms to their childcare provider by the 10th of each month (or next business day if the due date lands on the weekend). Providers are then responsible for completing their portion of the form, as well as completing the provided cover sheet. The provider is then responsible for delivering all applications and cover sheet to the Office on Youth by the 20th of each month (or next business day if the due date lands on the weekend). Incomplete applications and late requests will not be considered.
