VDGIF Basic Hunter Education Course

Sunday, October 15

Completion of a Basic Hunter Education Course is a requirement to purchase a hunting license in Virginia for 12–15 year old and first-time hunters. It has been a mandatory requirement since 1988. This course is supported by Orange County Parks & Recreation and hosted at the Town of Orange Community Room on Warren Street, however, it is actually a Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries class and will be instructed by DGIF instructors.

Registration is handled online through a third party system.  To register, please visit the online registration page.  The class is free, but there may be a fee for the course book depending on how you wish to receive it.  This class will take place Sunday, October 15 from 12 noon- 6 pm.  As a DGIF class, registration is open state-wide and we cannot reserve spots, please register ASAP if you would like to attend.  A maximum of 50 participants will be able to take this class.  This will be the only class at this location this year.
