Bridge Work Begins Monday, May 7, 2018 on Route 630 (Matthews Mill Road) in Orange County

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the Route 630 (Matthews Mill Road) bridge over Pamunkey Creek in Orange County for replacement of its superstructure beginning Monday, May 7, 2018. Weather permitting, the bridge is expected to reopen to all legal-weight vehicles on Friday, June 8, 2018.

The timber deck bridge, located 0.6 mile south of Route 629 (Lahore Road), carries about 50 vehicles daily.

Motorists are advised to use Route 629 and Route 669 (Marquis Road) to access Route 630.
