UPDATE: Robinson River Bridge Closed Again Beginning Monday, July 9th

UPDATE: Route 614 (Locust Dale Road) is now open to traffic. Crews have finished removing the debris from the bridge over the Robinson River.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close Route 614 (Locust Dale Road) at the bridge over the Robinson River near the Culpeper-Madison County line for debris removal. The road will be closed to through traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily on Monday, July 9, 2018 through Friday, July 13, 2018.
This is the second time in a month that large trees, limbs, and other debris that washed downstream during heavy rains and flooding lodged against the upstream side of the bridge supports and abutments. The debris needs to be removed to prevent damage to the bridge. VDOT contract crews will use heavy equipment to remove the debris.
Motorists should use alternate routes during the closure.
