Press Release - EpIC Launches Web Pages on the County Website

The Epidemic Intelligence Council (EpIC) is happy to announce the launch of their web pages on the Orange County Government website.

EpIC was formed in 2018 after members of the Orange Community felt the need to join forces to battle the opioid epidemic, specifically in Orange County. The first meeting was held February 14, 2018 and has met nearly every month since. Meetings have included guest speakers touching on various programs as well as personal testimonies of survivors, family members, and others directly impacted by the opioid crisis. Recently, EpIC completed their strategic plan which led to the formulation of various sub-committees tasked with taking specific action within our community. The EpIC Marketing Committee strives to bring awareness of these efforts and provide resources and information to the Orange Community by adding related information to the Orange County Government website.

The EpIC pages officially launched on Friday, October 25, 2019, and can be found under the Department of Social Services page at http://orangecountyva.gov/. They will include information on the history of EpIC along with links for resources, local, state, and national statistics, news articles, and any upcoming events the membership will be participating in. Orange County citizens are encouraged to visit the EpIC section of the Orange County website and share any information with others who may be in need.

For additional information or questions, please contact Office on Youth Director, Alisha Vines, at (540) 672-5484 extension 4 or avines@orangecountyva.gov or Orange County Department of Social Services Director, Crystal Hale, at (540) 672-1155 or crystal.m.hale@dss.virginia.gov.
