Press Release- Real Estate Taxes Due Despite Board of Equalization Appeal Process Delays

Orange County, VA – Real estate taxes are due June 22, 2020; however, no penalties or interest will accrue as long as the payment is made by July 20, 2020. Tax payments are due even if you have a pending case with the Board of Equalization. Due to COVID-19 delays, the Board of Equalization process will not be completed prior to the tax deadline. Staff are working diligently to schedule the equalization hearing process as soon as possible. Billing information is available anytime at www.orangecountyva.gov.

Payments are accepted through one of the following methods:

•    Via drop box located at 112. W. Main Street Orange, Virginia 22960 

•    Online at www.orangecountyva.gov

•    By mail to Dawn W. Herndon, Treasurer, P.O. Box 469 Orange, VA 22960

•    In person beginning June 15, 2020, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Face coverings shall be required in accordance with Executive Order 63.

Completed forms may be submitted to reassessment@orangecountyva.gov by 5:00 p.m. June 15, 2020. Questions regarding the Board of Equalization process may be directed to the Orange County Administrator’s Office at (540) 672-3313.
