OMH Newsletter October  2008

Greetings Fellow Pilots, Friends and Colleagues,

We have had some very interesting visitors to OMH lately!  But most recently, on Wednesday, October 1, aircraft N1US surprised us with a visit. One of my lineman, Chris, in charge of photographing unique and interesting visitors and unbeknownst to him, after they were fueled and getting ready to start their engines, they very happily shouted “you are taking a picture of the helicopter that just broke a world record!”….  After we watched them leave in wonder, we googled the aircraft number on the helicopter “N1US” and got this website: http://www.grandadventure08.com/ (Chris’ photo attached).

We learned that this helicopter broke the world record by circum-navigating earth in August 2008 in 11 days, 7hrs and 2 mins.  ….were we a fuel stop on their way home….?  Too cool.

Changing the subject, I wanted to let you all know that October is the last month for the Flying Circus (www.flyingcircusairshow.com), then it will close for the season.  I have ten discount tickets left for $2.00 off adult admission if anyone is interested.

And lastly, many of our resident pilots (including me) are helping our neighbors, Culpeper airport, with their upcoming “Airfest”.  Please come join us.  Go to: www.culpeperairport.comI for more info.
