OCABA

Orange County Airport Boosters Association

Founded in the early 90’s, OCABA was established by local pilots and other enthusiasts to support and promote the airport operations and to provide a vehicle to enhance the airport environment for the local community and county residents.

OCABA has established a yearly scholarship named after a local pilot who was a founding member of OCABA. The Frank A. Hume Memorial Award is given to an Orange County High School senior every year. This five hundred-dollar scholarship is awarded to those students who show a commitment to the community and to aviation. Money is raised via a semi-annual fly-in pancake breakfast held every spring and fall. Past activities include “Skies the Limit Day” and also cookouts and fly-in flea markets. Money is also raised to provide the airport community with amenities such as the picnic pavilion built this past year.
