  1. OCPR Karate at OES

    February 2, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM @ Orange Elementary School

    In addition to our GBES Karate program, which is ongoing, OCPR is offering karate at Orange Elementary. It will be a monthly ongoing program held on Mondays & Wednesdays 4:30pm-5:30pm. This program will be instructed by Spike Richards, and will offer two options. The first is attending one class per week for $35 per month, the second is attending two classes per week for $60 per month. There will be an additional one-time uniform fee, which will be payable to the instructor.

  2. OCPR Basketball Clinics OES

    February 3, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Orange Elementary School

    Learn the fundamentals of Basketball and get some practice! For boys and girls in grades K-2, this is a great introduction to the sport. This program will be held at OES and LGPS. OES classes will begin Jan. 20 and run through Feb. 24 on Tuesdays. LGES classes will begin Jan. 21 and run through Feb. 25 on Wednesdays. Either program is held 4-5pm. The total cost is $50. The registration deadline is Jan. 16, after which a $5 late fee will be charged.

    Brought to you a partnership with Ron Craddock Karate Academy, your child will study martial arts for the betterment of their health, discipline, work ethic, and overall happiness. The Ron Craddock Karate Academy has years of experience working with children, and their instructors are highly qualified and respected among other martial artists. The Gordon Barbour Elementary School program is ongoing, and held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The beginners class is held from 6:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m., the advanced class is held from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. At GBES, the Karate program has a $60 per month fee, which is paid every month for as long as the child is participating.

    This 8 week session of our “Introduction to Tai Chi” class will cover the first third of Cheng Man Ching’s simplified Tai Chi Ch’uan (37 posture form) based on the “Yang” style. A second Introduction session will complete this first third. Tai Chi is a great activity embraced by young and old alike. Tai Chi classes are held in Dogwood Village's wellness room, located in the Senior Living Building at the back of the complex. The fee is $95.

    February 6, 6:30 PM - 8:55 PM @ Orange County High School Old Gym

    Throughout the duration of the winter program, children will be taught to confidently explore the world of gymnastics by co-operating with one another and following directions. Gymnastics helps develop motor skills and coordination, as well as basic social skills, such as following directions and taking turns. Lessons learned throughout the program will provide the children with the skills necessary to excel in other sports, social settings, and the classroom. The winter program will be held on Fridays, Jan. 9 - Jan. 30.
