  1. Living Well with Chronic Illness Workshop Info Session

May 16, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Town of Orange Community Room

Chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, joint pain, depression, lung issues, Lyme’s disease, neuropathy, and others, affect many in our population. To help assist affected individuals, Stanford University’s Patient Education Center developed the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) in 1996. Topics include techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, pain, and isolation, exercises to maintain flexibility and endurance, appropriate use of medications, nutrition, communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, decision making, and how to evaluate new treatments. The Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services board will be offering CDSMP workshops in our area. To help promote these workshops, a free information session will be held at the Town of Orange Community Room, located at 235 Warren Street, Orange, VA 22960 at 10am on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. Come learn how this program may help you live well with chronic illness.
