Court Services

Criminal cases in all Orange County courts are prosecuted by the Commonwealth's Attorney or his deputy. The judges are appointed by the Virginia General Assembly. Court security and the delivery of court papers is handled by the Orange County Sheriff's Office. Two constitutional officers work within the court system. One, the commonwealth's attorney, prosecutes cases for the county. The other is the circuit court clerk.
