Youth Programs
Orange County Parks & Recreation is currently taking registrations for many of our programs.  Information on particular programs can be found below.  To learn about registering for a program, please visit our Registration Page.  Orange County Parks & Recreation reserves the right to cancel any program due to lack of interest, register early to ensure the viability of a program you are interested in.

Unless otherwise noted, all programs REQUIRE pre-registration and payment in advance of the program start date.  In general, a soft deadline for registration is set at one week before the program begins, we may be able to register your child for a program after this date, but it is HIGHLY recommended that you complete registration beforehand.

Fall Programs - More to Come Soon!
Gymnastics
, Ages 3-13, $50
Throughout the duration of the Fall program, children will be taught to confidently explore the world of gymnastics by cooperating with one another and following directions. Gymnastics helps develop motor skills and coordination, as well as basic social skills, such as following directions and taking turns. Lessons learned throughout the program will provide the
children with the skills necessary to excel in other sports, social settings, and the classroom. Classes will split into groups that are taught by the different instructors, and there will be four rotations at bars, vault, beam, and floor.  Please be aware that this class will take place on Wednesday evenings October 1, 2014 - October 29, 2014, and that times and age groups have been adjusted slightly.  Ages 3-4 will participate from 6:30-7:15pm; Ages 5-7 will participate from 7:20-8:05pm; Ages 8-13 will participate from 8:10-8:55pm.  All classes will be held at the Orange County High School gymnasium.

Happy Dance, Girls Grades K-2, $110
This program is a great opportunity for your child to experience the joy of expression through music and movement. Participants will develop and improve coordination, confidence, concentration, self-discipline and teamwork while having a lot of fun. This program will run Tuesdays & Thursdays October 7 - November 20, 2014, with no classes held on November 4 or 6. This is an afterschool program, and will be held 4 - 4:45pm each afternoon.  To learn more, visit our instructor's site.

Fun with Baton Twirling
, Boys & Girls Grades 3-5, $110 + $30 Baton Fee
Come try out this art form with limitless possibilities. From twirls to kicks to tosses, get ready to have a great time. No experience required. Side effects include enhanced coordination & agility, boosted confidence, and discovering a whole new way to be creative! This program will run Tuesdays & Thursdays October 7 - November 20, 2014, with no classes held on November 4 or 6. Teen Line Dance, Ages 14-17, $110
Take a break from studies and have some fun! Join our mid-week line dance classes, hang out with friends, and learn great new moves to some of today’s most popular songs (country, pop, and more!). This program will run Tuesdays & Thursdays October 7 - November 20, 2014, with no classes held on November 4 or 6. Ongoing Programs

Karate
: Ages 3+, $60/month
Brought to you a partnership with Ron Craddock Karate Academy, your child will study martial arts for the betterment of their health, discipline, work ethic, and overall happiness. The Ron Craddock Karate Academy has years of experience working with children, and their instructors are highly qualified and respected among other martial artists. The Gordon Barbour Elementary School program is ongoing, and held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The beginners class is held from 6:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m., the advanced class is held from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. At GBES, the Karate program has a $60 per month fee, which is paid every month for as long as the child is participating.
