Youth Programs
Orange County Parks & Recreation is currently taking registrations for many of our programs.  Information on particular programs can be found below.  To learn about registering for a program, please visit our Registration Page.  Orange County Parks & Recreation reserves the right to cancel any program due to lack of interest, register early to ensure the viability of a program you are interested in.

Unless otherwise noted, all programs REQUIRE pre-registration and payment in advance of the program start date.  In general, a soft deadline for registration is set at one week before the program begins, we may be able to register your child for a program after this date, but it is HIGHLY recommended that you complete registration beforehand.

Unless otherwise noted, programs are open to both boys & girls.


Fall Programs
Wrestling, Girls & Boys Grades K-8, $40-$60
Wrestling is back! Orange County has a strong wrestling tradition, be a part of it! The goal of this program is to teach solid wrestling fundamentals and develop self-reliance, drive, & determination. Our popular wrestling program now has two age groups. Grades K-1 will have practice on Wednesday evenings 6-7:30pm. Children must be enrolled in Kindergarten or a later grade to participate. The cost for your child to participate in this younger group is $40. Grades 2-8 will have practice on Tuesday & Thursday evenings 6-7:30pm. The cost for this age group is $60. The season begins Tuesday, November 11, 2014 & ends Tuesday, February 24, 2015.  Home matches will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 & Sunday, February 22, 2015.  Away matches are TBD.  Open tournaments are scheduled for Saturday, January 17 & Saturday, February 7.  Participation in these tournaments requires an additional, separate fee, which is not included in the registration. 

Happy Dance
, Girls & Boys Grades K-2, $50
This program is a great opportunity for your child to experience the joy of expression through music and movement to some of today's most upbeat tunes.  Students develop and improve coordination, concentration, self-discipline and teamwork while having a lot of fun.  It will be held at Locust Grove Primary School in the gym from 4-4:45pm on Tuesdays, November 18, 2014 through December 16, 2014. 

FusionDanz, Girls & Boys Grades 3-5, $50
A dynamic, fun blend of pop, cheer, Latin salsa and Brazilian capoeira blended into dance and set to today's most popular music -- all with original choreography.  Students get an opportunity to try out and combine different styles of dance in one fun routine. Dress is comfortable clothing and sports shoes with hair pulled back. It will be held at Locust Grove Primary School in the gym from 4-4:45pm on Thursdays, November 20, 2014 through December 18, 2014.


Ongoing Programs
Karate
: Ages 4+, $60/month
Brought to you a partnership with Ron Craddock Karate Academy, your child will study martial arts for the betterment of their health, discipline, work ethic, and overall happiness. The Ron Craddock Karate Academy has years of experience working with children, and their instructors are highly qualified and respected among other martial artists. The Gordon Barbour Elementary School program is ongoing, and held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The beginners class is held from 6:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m., the advanced class is held from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. At GBES, the Karate program has a $60 per month fee, which is paid every month for as long as the child is participating.
