Fall Programs
Basic Photography: Ages 13+, See below for dates, $99
Modern cameras are amazing tools. They can help us capture and preserve moments better than ever before, but their many features and terms can be overwhelming and intimidating. The main goal of this course is to help you become comfortable with your camera and gain a basic understanding of some photography concepts, so you can focus on the art of photography rather than the mechanics of your camera. Students should provide their own camera, since the goal of this course is to help you become familiar with the camera you will be using. This camera does not need to be a specific kind of camera, bring whatever you have. Space is very limited, so pre-registration is required. The location of this course is to be determined. Four 2-hour classes will be held on Tuesdays & Thursdays. The dates of these classes will be September 2, 4, 9, and 11, 2014. There will be 8 total hours of instruction, including actual photo shoots.  Our instructor, Kent Potter, honorably served for 20 years in the Navy as a photographer, and has traveled much of the world with a camera. As a photojournalist his work has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers around the world. His expertise in photography is vast and varied.
