Youth Programs
Orange County Parks & Recreation is currently taking registrations for many of our programs.  Information on particular programs can be found below.  To learn about registering for a program, please visit our Registration Page.  Orange County Parks & Recreation reserves the right to cancel any program due to lack of interest, register early to ensure the viability of a program you are interested in.

Unless otherwise noted, all programs REQUIRE pre-registration and payment in advance of the program start date.  In general, a soft deadline for registration is set at one week before the program begins, we may be able to register your child for a program after this date, but it is HIGHLY recommended that you complete registration beforehand.

Fall Programs

Wrestling, Girls & Boys Grades K-8, $40-$60
Wrestling is back! Orange County has a strong wrestling tradition, be a part of it! The goal of this program is to teach solid wrestling fundamentals and develop self-reliance, drive, & determination. Our popular wrestling program now has two age groups. Grades K-1 will have practice on Wednesday evenings 6-7:30pm. Children must be enrolled in Kindergarten or a later grade to participate. The cost for your child to participate in this younger group is $40. Grades 2-8 will have practice on Tuesday & Thursday evenings 6-7:30pm. The cost for this age group is $60. The season begins Tuesday, November 11, 2014 & ends Tuesday, February 24, 2015.  Home matches will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 & Sunday, February 22, 2015.  Away matches are TBD.  Open tournaments are scheduled for Saturday, January 17 & Saturday, February 7.  Participation in these tournaments requires an additional, separate fee, which is not included in the registration. 

Winter Programs
Gymnastics, Girls & Boys Ages 3-13, $40
Throughout the duration of the winter program, children will be taught to confidently explore the world of gymnastics by co-operating with one another and following directions. Gymnastics helps develop motor skills and coordination, as well as basic social skills, such as following directions and taking turns. Lessons learned throughout the program will provide the children with the skills necessary to excel in other sports, social settings, and the classroom. Classes will split into groups that are taught by the different instructors, and there will be four rotations at bars, vault, beam, and floor.  The winter program will be held on Friday evenings beginning January 9, 2014 and will continue through January 30, 2014.  The total cost for the program is $40.  As usual, this program will be held in the OCHS old gym.  For this session, the youngest age group will be ages 3-4, who will practice from 6:30pm-7:15pm.  The next will be ages 5-7, who will practice from 7:20pm-8:05pm.  Last will be ages 8-13, who will practice from 8:10pm-8:55pm.

Ongoing Programs
: Ages 4+, $60/month
Brought to you a partnership with Ron Craddock Karate Academy, your child will study martial arts for the betterment of their health, discipline, work ethic, and overall happiness. The Ron Craddock Karate Academy has years of experience working with children, and their instructors are highly qualified and respected among other martial artists. The Gordon Barbour Elementary School program is ongoing, and held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The beginners class is held from 6:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m., the advanced class is held from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. At GBES, the Karate program has a $60 per month fee, which is paid every month for as long as the child is participating.
