County of Orange Fire and EMS Est. 1998About Orange County Fire & EMS
The County of Orange Fire and EMS (COFEMS) career department was established in 1998 due to a need for more EMS professionals to respond to an ever-rising 911 call volume in the county. With approximately 5,500 EMS calls every year, there are currently four Fire / EMS stations staffed by career medic / firefighters twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Presently, COFEMS has thirty-seven career staff serving Orange County’s 34,000 residents.
