Litter Control Initiatives
Litter Control initiatives in Orange County are managed by the Litter Control Committee on behalf of the Department of Public Works.

The Litter Control Committee is funded through a non-competitive grant from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.

Upcoming Programs & Events:

Electronics Recycling Event - April 13, 2019
Dispose of your electronics securely and responsibly (at NO cost) and keep them out of our landfill. Electronic waste is generally considered anything that plugs into a wall or accepts batteries.  “E-Waste” is an important issue because it can be dangerous if disposed of improperly.  This event will be held from 8am-12noon at the Orange County Landfill.  We are sorry, but please be aware that large appliances and televisions (of any type) cannot be accepted.  This program is offered in partnership with Rappahannock Goodwill.  For more information, please view the flyer.

Paper Shredding Event - May 4, 2019
Securely destroy your unwanted paper documents.  Visit the East Orange Ruritan Building (24124 Constitution Highway, Unionville, VA 22567) from 9am-12noon, where we will have a document shredding vehicle onsite.  This program is held in partnership with the East Orange Ruritan Club.

Hazardous Waste Disposal Day - Date TBD

Mark your calendars for hazardous waste disposal day at the Orange County Landfill.  More details to come.
