Litter Control
Litter Control Initiatives
Litter Control initiatives in Orange County are managed by the Litter Control Committee on behalf of the Department of Public Works.

The Litter Control Committee is made up of five (5) citizens of Orange County.

The Committee:
  • Promotes the Adopt-A-Highway program sponsored by the VA Department of Transportation
  • Presents programs to schools and groups about litter prevention and recycling
  • Tends a garden spot in the Town of Orange
  • Works with the Department of Public Works to promote proper waste disposal and recycling within the county

The Litter Control Committee is funded through a non-competitive grant from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.
