Strengthening Families Program 6-11
The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is a grant funded program housed within the Office on Youth.  The program is held over fourteen (14) weeks and is designed for families with youth ages 6-11.  This program takes a whole family approach.  Each session begins with a meal, followed by separate parent and youth groups, and ends with a family group. Personal disclosure is not required and an emphasis is placed on new skills offering more options rather than criticizing old skills or past behavior.

Outcomes of SFP 6-11 include: increased cooperation, improved family relationships, decreased behavior problems, and increased social competencies, school grades, parenting knowledge, and communication. The program helps families recognize their strengths and improves family value. For more information about the program and its nationally recognized successes, please visit the Strengthening Families Program 6-11 site.

Each session begins with dinner for the entire family.  Gas station gift cards are provided weekly to each family in attendance to assist with transportation expenses and child care is provided for younger family members.

Our next session of the Strengthening Families Program 6-11 will be held on Tuesday evenings in Fall of 2019 (exact dates TBD).  The planned location will be in the Locust Grove area.  Registration is always open!
