After Prom

The Orange County Office on Youth and the After Prom committee volunteers provide the Orange County High School Juniors and Seniors, and their dates, a safe, drug and alcohol free environment following the prom. This yearly event is funded solely from community donations and small grants. The evening is full of activities that offer an alternative to engaging in the high risk, dangerous behavior frequently associated with the evening. Activities include bingo, inflatables, various contests, a DJ, free food and drinks, and drawings/prizes throughout the entire event.

Students can attend the After Prom celebration whether or not they attend the prom. The celebration starts at the conclusion of prom (midnight) and is over at 5:00 a.m. Students are required to be admitted, or in line, by 1:00 a.m. and must sign out if they leave before the conclusion of the event.

In addition to the generous donations from the community, it takes a great deal of volunteer work and manpower before, during, and after the event to ensure the youth have a wonderful experience. If you are interested in serving on the After Prom committee or to volunteer the night of the event, please call the Office on Youth or complete the volunteer application and return it to the OOY.
