County recycling location is located on Rt. 15, behind Pro Auto Body/DMV building.
Recycle glass, plastic, aluminum cans, newspaper and cardboard.

Prohibited Deposits at Collection Centers
*Included but not limited to.
- Dead animals
- Building, construction and remodeling materials
- Brush, limbs and branches that are not able to be bagged
- Stumps
- Tires and automobile parts
- Fencing materials
- Waste generated from a commercial, manufacturing or business enterprise
- Ashes and coals from any form of burning
- Gas tanks or cylinders
- Explosives
- Poisonous, infectious or hazardous waste
- 55-gallon drums
Recycling
The State Mandated Recycling Rate for municipalities has been lowered from 25% to 15%. The recycling rate turned in and accepted by the Department of Environmental Quality from Orange County was17.7% for last year. Recycling locations are listed above. Many of the sites that do not provide recycling collection now will do so in the future.
Orange County appreciates the efforts of those who recycle. To provide the best recycling material and to prevent loads of recyclable material from being rejected by recyclers, please follow the following recycling guidelines.
Recycling Guidelines
(No Plastic Bags are Allowed In Any Recycling Bin)
Newspaper and Phone Books: Keep all Recyclable paper clean and dry, do not tie.
Not Accepted: other paper material or cardboard, plastic bags, wire, string, or rope.
Glass Containers: Clear, green and brown glass jars or bottles, no other colors. Empty and rinse, it is not necessary to remove labels. Sort by color and deposit into the appropriate bin.
Aluminum: remove all contents and rinse.
Not accepted: other steel items, paint cans or aerosol cans.
Corrugated Board: corrugated board is paper board which can be identified by the wavy lines you see if you look at it on end. Remove all packing material and staples, and flatten boxes.
Not accepted: corrugated board contaminated with food, oil or other contaminants, cereal boxes, six-pack cartons or milk cartons.
Plastics (Rinse and remove lids before depositing into recycling bins. Lids cannot be
recycled and must be discarded as trash.
Not Accepted: Plastics that are not #1-#7, Styrofoam, containers larger than 1-1/2
gallons, buckets or toys.

Number 1 Plastics -- PET or PETE (polyethylene terephthalate)
Number 2 Plastics -- HDPE (high density polyethylene)
Number 3 Plastics -- V (Vinyl) or PVC
Number 4 Plastics -- LDPE (low density polyethylene)
Number 5 Plastics -- PP (polypropylene)
Number 6 Plastics -- PS (polystyrene) - Except Styrofoam
