Computers, Databases & Technology
We provide free public access computers for: Internet searching, word processing and other office applications, use of reference databases such as computer encyclopedias, and CD-ROM learning games for kids. Customers may phone in reservations up to 2 days in advance by calling their local branch. All of our library locations offer wireless Internet access for the public. We also offer remote database and catalog access from home.
Holds and Interlibrary Loans
The Library provides a service where we will hold particular items for patrons to ensure that they can have access to them. This service is often used to ensure customers get new bestsellers quickly but it also is used to bring items from one branch to another so that the individual location’s collections are accessible to anyone in the county. Over 28,000 hold requests were filled in FY2011. We also offer interlibrary loan service to obtain materials which are not in our collections from other libraries for our residents.
All of our Library locations offer public meeting room space.
