Battlefield / Piedmont Regional TRIAD

What is TRIAD?

TRIAD is a volunteer partnership that involves:

• a sheriff
• police chief(s) in the county
• local AARP or other older/retired leadership

The primary goals of TRIAD are to:

• reduce the criminal victimization of older citizens
• enhance delivery of law enforcement services to this population
• provide opportunities for exchange of information between law enforcement and senior citizens

The TRIAD program is tailored to meed the needs of each community, and is guided by a senior advisory countil (SALT).

TRIAD is an integral part of community policing, with a focus on reducing unwarranted fear of crime and improving the quality of life for seniors.

The next Battlefield/Piedmont Regional TRIAD Annual Conference for Senior Citizens will take place October 17, 2008.

Past programs have included presentations on criminal justice, community outreach, assisted living, adult social service, Medicare, and safety. Details of the program for the next conference will be posted here as they develop.
