Voter Registration

The Office of Voter Registration and Elections is located on the second floor of the Sedwick Building on Madison Road. The mission of this office is to provide opportunities for qualified citizens to register to vote, to maintain accurate
records of registered voters, and to conduct elections in a fair, accurate, and equitable manner that complies with all state and federal election laws.

The General Registrar is a constitutional officer who is appointed to a 4 year term by the 3 member Electoral Board. Each member of the Electoral Board is appointed by the Circuit Court of the County. The Office of Voter Registration
and Elections works directly with the Electoral Board in conducting each election that occurs in the County. In order to accomplish this, up to 150 poll workers are needed for each General Election.

Poll Worker Information:

To be a Poll Worker, you need to be a registered voter in Virginia, and not hold elected office, or be the employee or deputy of an elected official. If you are interested in learning more, please click here.
