Summary
This is a proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance which would create a new use known as a rural retreat, permitted with a Special Use Permit (SUP) in the Agricultural (A) zoning district. The new use is proposed to permit lodging operations which offer more than 15 guestrooms, which is the current cap for bed and breakfast inns. This proposal also adds specific regulations for rural retreats and amends Sec. 70-621 regarding the regulation of principal structures.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission held work sessions on this proposed amendment during their October 19, 2023 and November 2, 2023 meetings. An additional work session will be held during the December 7, 2023 meetings. Materials will be posted in the Agenda Center under the application number when published.
