Paint Your Pet Guided Art Class

Provide us with a picture of your pet, and we will have a pre-sketched canvas ready for your child to paint and take home! This one-night evening program will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Sedwick Building (the office building which houses the OCPR office). The registration fee is $30. All necessary materials are provided. You must pre-register and provide us with a good photo of your child’s pet (dog, cat, pony, rabbit, bird, lizard, any other animal, etc.) in advance. The instructor for this class is Anissa Frantz, an experienced youth art teacher. Space is limited. As an indoor program, masks will be required for participants. Registration will close when the class fills, even if this happens before the January 18, 2022 deadline.

"Go-For" Intro to Disc Golf

In this program, participants will receive an introduction to the sport of disc golf, learn some beginner tips, and get some exercise playing a round (or two) with OCPR staff and volunteers to find out if this growing sport could be their new favorite pastime! Kids will be grouped based on age range. You do not need to bring a disc! Each paid participant will receive one complimentary mid-range disc featuring a unique stamp from one of our tournaments (disc msrp ~$10) to get them started. This program is scheduled for Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 10am-12noon, at the Orange County Disc Golf Course. Pre-registration is required. The registration deadline for this program is Friday, January 14, but it may close earlier if maximum participant numbers are reached. As this is an outdoor program, masks are planned to be optional.

Winter Soccer Clinics

Orange County Parks & Recreation is partnering with All In Elite Soccer to offer youth soccer skills clinics at Booster Park this winter before soccer season returns. Classes will be held on Saturdays, January 15 through February 5, 2022. The head coach will be Nolan De Four, and skills covered will include dribbling, passing accuracy, trapping, shooting, ball control, and agility. Two age group options are available. Ages 4-8 will meet from 10:30am-11:30am, with a registration fee of $70. Ages 9-12 will meet from 12noon-2pm, with a registration fee of $100. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. As an outdoor program, masking is planned to be optional. In the event of inclement weather cancellations, makeups will be added on following Saturdays.
