In our one-day introduction program, we will: introduce the sport of archery, learn range safety, learn basic shot technique, and play fun archery games. This program is intended to introduce interested children to the sport, as such, it focuses on safety and fun, but does not delve too deeply into advanced technique. The instructor for this program is USA Archery certified. All equipment will be provided, and the program will take place at Booster Park on February 22, 2020. Registration is due by February 7, 2020. Space is very limited, and registration will close once the maximum number of participants is reached, even if before the deadline. Registrations received after Feb. 7 deadline will be assessed a $10 late fee.
Orange County Parks & Recreation is hosting afterschool guided painting programs at LGES and LGMS in February. The LGES class will be held on February 20, with students painting a picture of an octopus. The LGMS class will be held February 27, and students will paint a picture of a peacock. While it is a guided painting class; students will incorporate their own artistic touches, making the final product a truly unique work of art. Classes last 2 hours, and the fee for either class is $30, which includes materials. These classes are intended as afterschool programs at their respective host schools. Students from other schools in the same grade range as the host school may register and attend, but transportation is not provided. Registration must be completed no later than the Friday prior to the class date.
