Press Release - Orange County Promotes New Director of Development Services

ORANGE COUNTY, Va. – Orange County is excited to announce the promotion of Nicole Ganoe-Washington to the position of Director of Development Services, effective October 1, 2022.

Mrs. Ganoe-Washington holds a master’s degree in business administration from Averett University, and her undergraduate degree from George Mason University. She began her career with Orange County as Business Systems Analyst with the Information Technology Department. Her efforts in that role have made a significant impact towards improving our systems infrastructure.

Previously, she worked for Albemarle County as Management Analyst II in the Building Services Department, overseeing operational and capital budgets. Her public and private sector experience will bring fresh insight to the Development Services Department.

Ganoe-Washington said she is very honored to have the opportunity to work with the citizens of Orange County, the staff, and the Board of Supervisors.

“As Orange County embraces technology to improve access to public services, Nicole’s experience will inform how we leverage that technology to improve the customer experience across all of our development and planning activities.  We look forward to her creativity and energy as she assumes leadership of our hard-working team,” said Theodore Voorhees, County Administrator.
