Press Release - Voting Information and Deadlines

ORANGE COUNTY, Va. – The Office of Voter Registration and Elections is committed to assisting all eligible voters maintain the ability to cast a ballot in upcoming elections. Please note the following important information and deadlines.

Voter Registration

The deadline to register to vote, or update an existing registration, is Monday, October 16, 2023. Voters may do this online at, call our office to request an application be mailed to them, or visit our office in person. The Office of Voter Registration and Elections is located at 146 North Madison Road, Suite 204, Orange, VA 22960.

Early Voting

Beginning Friday, September 22, 2023, voters may cast their ballot in person by visiting the office. It will be open for in-person voting Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additionally, the office will be open for voting on two Saturdays, October 28 and November 4, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. November 4 is the last day to vote early.

Vote By Mail

Voters can visit to apply for a mail-in ballot. They may also request an application by calling, emailing, or visiting the Office of Voter Registration and Elections. Friday, October 27, 2023, is the deadline to submit this application.

In-Person Voting on Election Day

All normal polling locations will be open on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Remember that the recent decennial redistricting may have altered a voter’s polling place. Visit to access an interactive polling place map which can help identify a voter’s correct voting location or call our office for assistance.

To assist with the election process, Officers of Election are needed. Individuals serving in this role are vital to ensuring a fair and well-organized election. Officers are compensated for their service and Virginia law requires employers to allow an Officer to serve on Election Day without using leave or facing adverse action.
