1. How do I apply for a "dump permit" for permission to use Orange County's collection sites and Landfill?

You may apply for a dump permit by filling out the Orange County Permission to Dump Form and submitting it to the Administration Office via fax, email, U. S. Mail Service, or hand delivery. Please allow two (2) weeks for review and approval. Please use the link below to access the Orange County Permission to Dump Form in PDF format, which must be printed, filled out, and submitted.

Dump permits allow users to utilize the collection sites and the Landfill when they are Orange County property owners, but may not have their vehicles registered in the County or may not have their primary residence in the County. The permits are valid for one (1) year and must be renewed each year in order to continue use. There are no costs associated with obtaining a dump permit.

You may request information pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by filling out the Orange County Information Request Form and submitting it to the Administration Office via fax, email,  online, U. S. Mail Service, hand delivery,  or over the phone. Freedom of Information Act requests will be processed by the County Attorney's Office and Administration Office in a manner and timeframe as established by Virginia Code. .

3. How do I obtain a fireworks permit?

You may apply for a fireworks permit by filling out the Orange County Application for Fireworks Display Permit Form and submitting it to the Administration Office via fax, email, U. S. Mail Service, or hand delivery. Applications for Fireworks Display Permit Forms must be submitted to the Administration Office not less than 30 days prior to the event. 4. How do I sign up to speak during Public Comment Period during a Board of Supervisors meeting?

Public Comment Period is a time for Orange County citizens to speak about any topic of their choice and occurs at the second Board of Supervisors meeting of the month. You may sign up outside the Board of Supervisors meeting room to speak during Public Comment Period at the start of each meeting, up until the conclusion of Public Comment Period (immediately following Public Appearances) at which time the Chairman closes Public Comment Period.

5. How do I sign up to speak during an upcoming Public Hearing?

You may sign up outside the Board of Supervisors meeting room to speak at an advertised Public Hearing. You must sign up in person at the time of the Public Hearing. If you are unable to attend the advertised Public Hearing in person, written comments may be submitted to the Board of Supervisors prior to the time of the advertised Public Hearing.

6. How do I request to be added to an agenda for an upcoming Board of Supervisors meeting?

You may contact the Administration Office by phone or email to arrange to be added to an upcoming agenda; however, a written proposal or explanation of your request to be placed on the agenda is needed in advance of agenda publication, which takes place a week prior to the Board of Supervisors meeting.
