    Local Author Sharon Pago will present and discuss her newly published picture book "Talking to Sissy". She will talk about the personal story behind the book as well as the writing and publishing process. This program is sponsored by the Wilderness Friends of the Library and is designed for an adult audience. Sharon will have books to sign and sell. No pre-registration is required.

  2. Parks & Recreation Winter Tai Chi Fundamentals Classes

    February 27, 2024, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

    Town of Orange Train Depot Community Room

    Have fun learning this graceful, slow-moving form of exercise that has ancient roots tracing back into the depths of Chinese culture and philosophy of centuries past. Two class options are available based on experience level. Section I will cover the first Third of Cheng Man Ching’s simplified Tai Chi Ch’uan (37 posture form), while Section II will cover the second third. Section II registration will require demonstration of proficiency with the first third of the form, as determined by the instructor. Both classes will be held in the Orange Train Depot on Tuesday evenings. Section I will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m.; Section II will begin immediately following Section I and will end at 8:00 p.m. You must pre-register before attending. The registration fee is $80 for either class.

    The Arts Center in Orange

    Yoga is a practice that connects the body, breath, and mind. It uses physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve overall health. Yoga was developed as a spiritual practice thousands of years ago. At Orange County Parks & Recreation, we have partnered with Atha Yoga and The Arts Center in Orange to offer this seniors-only yoga program. Participants must be 50 or older.
