Parks & Recreation Events
The Orange County Parks and Recreation Office strives to offer a variety of recreational activities, including classes, clinics, and camps. Upcoming OCPR Events

Family BOOvie Night - October 25, 2019
Join us for a free family movie night at Booster Park! This event will show one animated short (Casper's Halloween Special) and one feature length film (The Haunted Mansion), beginning at 7pm. Please bring your own lawn chairs and/or blankets. The event is free. There is no admission or viewing fee.  Popcorn and candy will be available for purchase onsite (cash or check only please). You are encouraged to bring picnics. Both films are intended for younger audiences, but parents should use their discretion and research the content of the films before attending. All-County Track & Field Meet - October 26, 2019; Register by October 18, 2019
Offered in partnership with the OCHS Varsity Track & Field Team, this meet offers the opportunity to come see the new track, enjoy some friendly competition, and support the team!  Ages 5+ are welcome to compete in up to 4 events per person, with an entry fee of $5 per event.  For details and registration, view our flyer and registration document.

Office Costume Contest - October 31, 2019; Entries Due October 22, 2019
Our Annual Office Costume Contest will return for 2019!  This contest is sponsored by Faye's Office Supply, Inc. and encourages teamwork and fun within the workplace through a light hearted county-wide competition. There must be a theme to tie your groups' costumes together, and your organization, business, or department must be physically located in Orange County, Virginia.  Participating employees are not required to be Orange County residents.  There is NO FEE to enter this contest.  View our official rules, then use the online entry form to submit your office's entry. Turkey Toss Resident/Guest Disc Golf Tournament - November 23, 2019
Join us for our FIRST tournament at the Orange County Disc Golf Course! This doubles tournament is a fundraiser to benefit improvements and upkeep efforts at the Orange County Disc Golf Course. It is NOT a PDGA sanctioned event. Registration is available through OCPR in office or by calling (540) 672-5435.You must pre-register and pay the fee ($50 / two-person team) to reserve a spot. Space is limited to the first 24 teams to register. AT LEAST ONE TEAM MEMBER MUST BE AN ORANGE COUNTY, VA RESIDENT. All players will receive a commemorative t-shirt and disc. This is a fun, recreational tournament, with 36 total holes played including Captain's Choice, Best Disc, and Alternate Shot formats.

Gingerbread House Contest - December 6-17, 2019; Entries Due December 2, 2019
The annual gingerbread house contest returns for 2019 in partnership with The Arts Center in Orange.  This contest is FREE TO ENTER and open to residents of and those who work in Orange County, VA.  Be festive and have some fun making and entering a unique gingerbread structure with your friends and family.  Read our official contest rules and submit your online entry form by December 2, 2019.  Structures must be delivered to the Arts Center on December 6 or 7, 2019.
